Christmas Pear Salad

1 package of lime gelatin
3/4 cup of boiling water
1 cup of evaporated milk
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
1 cup of cottage cheese, creamed
1/2 cup of pecans
1/2 cup of celery, finely chopped
1/2 cup of mayonnaise

TOP LAYER:
1 package of lime gelatin
3/4 cup of boiling water
4 to 6 drops green food coloring
1 can pear halves
Maraschino cherries

Dissolve gelatin in boiling water, then add remaining ingredients for bottom layer. Mix together and spread into 9 x 13-inch pan. Chill. Place pear halves in rows. (Each serving will contain 1 pear half.) Put 1 Maraschino cherry in center of each pear half. To make top layer, dissolve lime gelatin in boiling water. Add food coloring. Pour evenly over pear halves, covering entire bottom layer. Chill until firm.
