Spicy Rutabaga Bread

1 cup of flour 
2/3 cup of sugar 
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda 
1/4 teaspoon of allspice, ground 
1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon 
1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg 
1/4 teaspoon of salt or to taste 
1/4 teaspoon of baking powder 
1 egg 
1/2 cup of rutabaga, cooked & pureed 
1/4 cup of vegetable oil 



Spray an 8 x4 inch baking pan and line with wax paper. Combine flour, sugar, baking soda, allspice, cinnamon, & nutmeg; mix well. In another bowl, beat egg and add rutabaga & vegetable oil. Add moist ingredients to dry ingredients all at once. Stir just enough to blend. Pour into prepared pan & bake in preheated oven at 350ºF. for one hour, or until toothpick inserted, comes out clean. R
