Baked Rutabaga

2 or 3 medium sized rutabagas
1 tablespoon of  sugar
1 teaspoon of  salt
1/8 teaspoon of  white pepper
1/4 cup of  butter or margarine
1/2 cup of  milk
1 tablespoon of  flour

Peel and slice rutabagas. Cook in salted water until soft. Drain. Mash and add sugar, milk, flour and pepper. (Canned milk is best.) Beat until consistency of lumpy mashed potatoes. Pour into greased loaf pan. Dot with butter. Bake at 350ºF.  for about 45 minutes, until brown peaks appear.
