Fettuccini with Leek Sauce

1 pound of leeks, washed thoroughly
1 large can of peeled, diced tomatoes
1/2 to 3/4 lb. lean bacon
Salt and pepper
1 pound of  fettuccini, fresh is best

Fry bacon crispy. Cut leek (white part only) into circles. Sauté with bacon. Remove bacon and crumble. Add back to pan with can of tomatoes and salt and pepper to taste. Cook fettuccini, drain. Pour leek mixture over. Takes about 10 minutes. Serves 4-6 as appetizer.
