Spiced Pickled Beets

2 cups of cider vinegar
4 cups of water
2 cups of sugar
1 teaspoon of whole cloves
1 tablespoon of whole allspice

Mix all together and heat real well. Place beets in vinegar mixture. Cook until heated real well. Place in jars and seal with lids. Makes enough liquid for about 7 or 8 pints. Use as many beets as you want, small or medium size. Cook beets, then place them under cold water to peel.
