Sweet And Sour Chinese Leeks

1 pound of Chinese leeks
6 tablespoons of butter or margarine
2 tablespoons of dark brown sugar
4 tablespoon of Red wine vinegar
1/2 cup of chicken broth
Salt and pepper to taste

Prepare leeks by trimming tops and roots. In a wok or frying pan, sautĂ© leeks in  butter or margarine over low heat for 20 minutes or until soft. Stir occasionally. Add final ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce to simmer, stirring occasionally for 12-15 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Salt and peer to taste.
