Sourdough Biscuits

1/2 cup of starter
1 cup of milk
2 1/2 cups of flour
1 tablespoon of salt
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of  soda
Bacon grease

Night before, mix starter, milk, 1 cup flour. Cover with cloth or net and let stand at room temperature. In morning, turn this very soft dough out onto 1 cup flour on bread board. Sift sugar, salt, baking powder and soda with remaining 1/2 cup flour together, and then over top of dough. With your hands mix the dry ingredients into the soft dough, kneading lightly to get correct consistency. Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut out biscuits, dip in warm bacon grease or oil and place on cookie sheet. Let rise about 1/2 hour. Bake at 375ºF. for 30 minutes.
