Strawberry Shortcake w/Soda Crackers

1 pint of  strawberries, washed & stemmed
1 cup of sugar (or to taste)
1 teaspoon of  ground cinnamon
One 4 ounce package of  soda crackers
Whipped cream

Put the berries in a medium mixing bowl. Mix the sugar and cinnamon together in a small mixing bowl, then pour over the berries; mix well. Mash the berries with a potato masher or back of a spoon. Let them sit for at least 30 minutes and stir again. Place the crackers on the bottom and around the sides of a 8- inch dish. Pour the berries into the dish and refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours or overnight. Serve just like it is or topped with whipped cream. Serves 4 to 6.
