1 1/2 pounds of round steak, 1/2 inch thick 1 envelope of brown gravy mix 1 tablespoon of instant minced onion 1 tablespoon of brown sugar 2 tablespoons of wine vinegar 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger 1 bay leaf Hot buttered noodles |

Cut meat into 1 inch squares. Brown meat in 1 tablespoon hot shortening (or oil). Put gravy mix with 2 cups water. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Stir in next 6 ingredients plus 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. ADD MEAT. Turn into 1 1/2 quart casserole. Cover and bake at 350ºF. for 1 1/2 hours. Remove bay leaf. Serve on noodles. 1 1/2 pounds of round steak, 1/2 inch thick 1 tablespoon of fat 1 envelope of brown gravy mix 2 cups of water 1 tablespoon of instant minced onion 2 tablespoons of white wine vinegar 2 tablespoons of brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon of salt 1/4 teaspoon of pepper 1/2 teaspoon of ginger 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce 1 bay leaf Hot buttered noodles
Cut meat in 1 inch squares. In a large skillet, brown meat on all sides in hot fat. Remove meat from skillet; add gravy mix and water. Bring to boiling, stirring constantly. Stir in remaining ingredients except noodles. Return meat to skillet; cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaf. Serve meat over hot buttered noodles. Makes 5 to 6 servings. |
