Pastry Fruit Bars

3 1/2 cups of sifted flour
2 eggs
1/2 pound of butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1 cup of sugar
2 cans of pie filling

Blend all of the above dry ingredients into the softened butter in a large bowl. Divide into 2 balls. Pat 1 ball into greased jelly roll pan (to cover). Spread pie fillings over this dough and crumble second dough ball over top. Bake at 350ºF. for 40 minutes.
