Georgia Peach Cobbler

12 fresh peach halves
1/3 cup of sugar
2 tablespoons of water
1 cup of flour
1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
2 tablespoons of butter
1/2 cup of milk 

Preheat your oven to 450ºF. Place the peach halves on bottom of glass baking dish. Combine the sugar and water in a small bowl, sprinkle over the peaches. Combine the flour and baking powder in a mixing bowl. Cut in the butter with pastry blended or 2 knives until the mixture resembles cornmeal. Stir in the milk, mix lightly. Spread the dough over the peach halves, bake for 30 minutes. Serve warm. Serves 6
