Party Pastries

one 3 ounce package of cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup of butter or margarine, softened
1 cup of all purpose flour
a dash of salt
leaf lettuce, optional
Chicken Salad Filling
Pizza Filling

Combine cream cheese and butter, beat at medium speed of an electric mixer until mixture is smooth. Add all purpose flour and dash of salt, mix well. Divide dough into 30 portions. Place in ungreased 1 3/4 inch muffin pans, and shape each into a shell, prick bottom and sides of pastry generously with a fork. Bake at 400ºF. for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Line pastries with leaf lettuce, if desired, fill with chicken salad filling, and chill as directed. Or fill with pizza filling, and bake as directed. Yield 2 1/2 dozen

Chicken Salad Filling:
3/4 cup of finely chopped cooked chicken
1/3 cup of mayonnaise
1/4 cup of finely chopped celery
2 tablespoons of finely chopped green pepper
2 tablespoons of finely chopped dill pickle
1/8 teaspoon of white pepper

Combine all ingredients, stir well. Cover and chill. Yield: enough for 2 1/2 dozen tarts

Pizza Filling:
1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce
about 1/2 cup (2  ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese

Spoon 1/2 teaspoon of pizza sauce into each pastry shell, top with cheese. Bake at 350 for 5 minutes or until cheese melts. Yield enough for 2 1/2 dozen tarts
