Party Nibbles: Brie with Cranberry Chutney

1 Brie round - 8-inch
CRANBERRY CHUTNEY
1 cup of cranberries
1/4 cup of packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons of green onion, chopped
2 teaspoons of lime juice
1 teaspoon of pickled jalapeno, chopped
Salt
Pepper
Toasted pecan halves, optional

Instructions
Cranberry Chutney: In saucepan, bring cranberries, sugar and 1 tb water to boil; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Add onion, lime juice, jalapeno, and salt and pepper to taste. Let cool slightly (Can be covered and refrigerated for up to 3 days.) Place Brie on ovenproof serving dish. Spoon chutney over top. Bake in 350ºF.   180ºC oven for 10-15 minutes or until cheese is just starting to melt. Garnish with pecan halves (if using). Fresh berries may also be used to garnish. Yields: 16 Servings
