Pot Roast 3  Basic-Recipes.com9/7/06

4 pounds of boneless chuck roast
2 tablespoons of shortening
1/3 cup of cider vinegar
1/2 cup of catsup
1 teaspoon of liquid smoke
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of garlic salt
1/2 cup of water  

Brown roast in shortening in heavy skillet or Dutch oven: cover with vinegar, catsup, liquid smoke, salt,  and garlic salt. Pour water into pan; cover and bake at 350ºF.  for 2 hours and 30 minutes or until tender, basting occasionally.
