3/4 pound of beef 1/3 cup of milk 3/4 cup of quick cooking oats salt to taste pepper to taste 2 tablespoons of fat or oil 1 cup of water 1/4 cup of chopped celery 1/4 cup of chopped green pepper 1/4 cup of chopped onion 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce 1 tablespoon of flour
Combine the beef, milk, oats, 1 teaspoon of salt and pepper and shape into thin patties. Brown on both sides in fat in a pan. Add the water, vegetables, Worcestershire sauce, salt to taste and pepper and cover. Cook over low heat for 30 minutes. Blend flour with 1 tablespoon of cold water and stir into the celery mixture. Cook until thickened, stirring occasionally.
