Barbecued Hamburgers
1 pound of hamburger 1 1/2 teaspoon of salt 3 tablespoons of fat 1 large onion, diced 1/4 cup of celery, diced 1/2 cup of green pepper, diced 1 cup of catsup or tomato soup 1/3 cup of vinegar 1 teaspoon of prepared mustard 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce |

Combine meat and 1 teaspoon salt; mix well. Heat fat. Add meat and brown, stirring frequently. Then add other ingredients. Cover and allow to simmer for about 20 minutes. Serve on buttered toasted buns. Barbecued Hamburgers 2
3 pounds of ground beef 1 teaspoon of pepper 1 teaspoon of salt 1 tablespoon of mustard 1 tablespoon of chili powder 1 tablespoon of vinegar 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce 1 bottle of hot ketchup 1 large onion, cut fine
Cook meat in enough water to make 2 cups broth. Pour off extra broth. Brown 1/2 cup flour. Add 2 cups of broth for a thin gravy. Set aside. Add rest of ingredients to meat and stir well. Then add gravy. Keeps good in refrigerator. Serve with coleslaw on bun. Barbecued Hamburgers 3
1 pound of ground beef 2 tablespoons of fat 1 large onion, chopped 1/2 cup of chopped celery or green pepper 1/2 cup of catsup 2 tablespoons of catsup 2 tablespoons of sugar 2 tablespoons of prepared mustard 1 tablespoon of vinegar 1 teaspoon of salt
Brown hamburger and onion and celery together. Add rest of ingredients and stir to mix well. Cover. Turn heat to very low and simmer. Cover at least 30 minutes. |
