Chow Mein


 

Chow Mein

1 onion
1/4 cup of chopped green pepper
1 1/2 cup of sliced celery
1/4 cup of margarine
1 cup of hot water
1 teaspoon of salt
1 can of chuck tuna or 1 cup of cooked tenderloin
1 can of grate chicken
one 20 ounce can of chow mein vegetables, drained
1 can of bean sprouts
1 1/2 tablespoon of cornstarch
1 tablespoon of cold water
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
1/4 tablespoon of sugar

 

Cook the onion, green pepper and celery in melted margarine for 3 minutes. Add hot water and salt, cover and cook for 5 minutes. Add tuna or tenderloin, grated chicken, chow mein vegetables and bean sprouts, heat thoroughly. Mix cornstarch, cold water, soy sauce and sugar. Add to mixture, stirring until chow mein is well blended and thickened. Serve over chow mein noodles. 6 servings
