Preheat your oven to 350ºF. Combine the margarine, cocoa, and sugar in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, combine the eggs, vanilla and milk. Sift flour, salt and baking powder into another bowl. Alternately add egg and cocoa mixtures to sifted dry ingredients. Stir in the bananas and nuts. Pour batter into a greased 8 inch square baking pan. Bake for 50 minutes. 2/3 cup of butter or margarine, sliced 2 teaspoons of vanilla 2 1/2 cups of Quaker Oats 1/2 cup of brown sugar 1 large ripe banana, thinly sliced 1 cup of semi sweet chocolate chips 1/2 cup of chunky peanut butter
Place sliced butter in a medium size glass mixing bowl and microwave, uncovered on High for 1 minute or until melted. Once melted, add vanilla extract, Quaker Oats and the brown sugar. Microwave, uncovered on High for 2 minutes or until brown sugar is melted. Stir very well. Fill a 3/4 cup measuring cup with the oat mixture and set it aside. Take the remaining mixture and press it into the bottom of a 9" glass baking dish and cover with banana slices. Place the chocolate chips and the peanut butter in a small glass bowl. Microwave, uncovered on High for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring well every minute until chips and peanut butter are melted. Pour melted chocolate mixture over bananas and crust. Crumble the reserved oat mixture over the chocolate, pressing it down lightly with your hand. Refrigerate for 2 hours before cutting into 24 bars. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator.

1 ripe banana, peeled 2/3 cup of margarine 2 teaspoons of vanilla 2 1/2 cups of rolled oats 1/2 cup of brown sugar, packed 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips 1/2 cup of peanut butter
Split banana lengthwise into quarters and then slice into small chunks, 1 1/4 cup about. Melt margarine in large skillet over medium heat. Stir in vanilla, then oats and brown sugar. Heat an stir five minutes. Set aside 3/4 cup oat mixture. Press remaining oat mixture into a 9 inch square pan. Sprinkle bananas over crust. Melt chocolate and peanut butter over low heat or microwave, uncovered 1 1/2 minutes on high. Pour and spread chocolate mixture over bananas. Sprinkle with reserved oat mixture. Press down lightly. Chill 2 hours. |
