| Pecan Squares
1/2 cup of soft butter 1/4 cup of honey, warmed 1 teaspoon of vanilla 1/8 teaspoon of salt 1 1/3 cup of whole wheat pastry flour 1/4 cup of soft butter 1/3 cup of honey 3 tablespoons of molasses 1 egg 1 teaspoon of vanilla 3 tablespoons of yogurt 3/4 cup of whole wheat pastry flour 1/4 teaspoon of salt 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda 3/4 cup of chopped pecans 1/2 cup of chopped pecans for topping
Mix 1/2 cup butter,1/4 cup of honey, 1 teaspoon of vanilla. 1/8 teaspoon of salt, and 1 1/3 cups of flour. Spread in buttered 8x12 inch baking pan. Bake at 325ºF. for 20 minutes. Cream 1/4 cup of butter, 1/3 cup honey, molasses, egg, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, and yogurt until light. Stir together 3/4 cup of flour,, 1/4 teaspoon of salt and soda. Add 3/4 cup pecans, then mix with creamed mixture. Pour this mix over partially baked bottom layer. Spread evenly and sprinkle with 1/2 cup of pecans. Bake at 325ºF. for 25 minutes. Cool and cut into squares. Makes 40 squares
