Low Calorie New Year's Eggnog

1/3 cup of  sugar
2 egg yolks
4 cups of  milk, whole
2 egg whites
3 tablespoons of  sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
Brandy or rum flavoring
Ground nutmeg

Beat the 1/3 cup sugar into egg yolks. Add 1/4 teaspoon salt. Stir into milk. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture coats a metal spoon; cool. Beat egg whites until foamy. Gradually add the 3 tablespoons sugar, beating to soft peaks. Add to egg mixture and mix well. Add vanilla and flavoring to taste. Chill. Pour egg mixture into punch bowl. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Yield: 8 (4 ounce) servings.

1/2 cup: 2 fruit exchanges; 1 meat, low-fat exchange OR 1 bread-starch exchange; 1/2 fruit exchange; 1/2 meat, medium-fat exchange; 1/2 cup with 1 ounce brandy or rum: add 2 fat exchanges. Protein 5 gm, Fat 2 gm, Carbohydrate 19 gm, Sodium 142 mg, Potassium 192 mg, Calories 114.
