Molasses Cake Ring

1/2 cup of Crisco
1/2 cup of granulated sugar
4 eggs
1/2 cup of molasses
2 cups of sifted cake flour
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon of ground cloves
1/2 cup of milk
Confectioners sugar

Preheat oven to 350ºF. In mixing bowl, cream together the Crisco and granulated sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in molasses. Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and cloves. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Pour batter into a well greased and floured 8 1/2 inch fluted tube pan. Bake at 350ºF. for 40 to 45 minutes or until the cake tests done. Cool completely. Sprinkle the cake with confectioners sugar.
