Macaroni, Ham, and Cheese Casserole
8 ounces of elbow macaroni 1/4 cup of butter 1/4 cup of flour 1 1/2 cups of milk 1/2 cup of heavy cream salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste 1 cup of diced cooked ham 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese |

Cook the macaroni in boiling, salted water for 9 minutes. Drain. Melt the butter. Add flour and stir to cook and mix smoothly for about 2 minutes. Add milk and cream and stir constantly until thickened. Season. Add macaroni and ham and mix well. Pour into a 2 - 2 1/2 quart casserole and sprinkle with the cheese. Bake in 375ºF. oven until nicely brown, about 30 minutes. Serves 4
