1 1/2 cups of milk or butter milk 1 Egg 2/3 cup of sugar, optional 1 cup of cornmeal, yellow or white 1 cup of flour 3 teaspoons of baking powder
Preheat oven to 400ºF. Beat first three ingredients until frothy. Add the next three ingredients mix until moistened.. do not over mix. Melt one tbsp of shortening in an iron skillet while you are preheating the oven.
