| | Rolls or Loaf Bread
1 cup of Crisco 1/2 cup of sugar 1 teaspoon of salt 2 packages of dry yeast dissolved in 1 cup of tepid water 2 beaten eggs 1 cup of boiling water
Thoroughly mix Crisco, sugar and salt in boiling water. Beat that mixture into dissolved yeast and gradually add 6 cups of flour. Dough will be very soft. Put into refrigerator overnight. Next day, remove from refrigerator, put out on floured surface to rest 10 minutes. work flour into dough until it's not sticky. Make into rolls or 2 loaves. Let rise until double. Bake in greased pans at 400ºF. for 35 minutes. If top browns too fast, cover with foil the last 20 minutes. |
