| Cheese Herb Loaf
one 3 ounce package of cream cheese 3/4 cup (3 ounces) of shredded sharp cheddar cheese 1/2 teaspoon of dry mustard 2 slices of bacon 1 tablespoon plus 1 1/2 teaspoons milk 1 1/2 teaspoons of chopped fresh chives one 16 ounce loaf French bread |

Soften and combine cream cheese with Cheddar cheese and mustard in a medium mixing bowl, beat well. Cook bacon in a small skillet until crisp. Drain bacon. Crumble bacon and set aside. Heat milk in a small saucepan. Pour warm milk into cheese mixture, beat until fluffy. Add chives and bacon to cheese mixture, mixing well.
Cut bread into 1 inch slices, cutting to, but not through, bottom crust. Spread slices with cheese mixture. Wrap cheese herb Loaf in heavy duty aluminum foil. Bake at 400ºF. for 10 - 12 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Serve warm. |
